Sometimes things just time out perfectly, and in so many ways Emi & Nate’s Delafield Engagement Session exemplifies that. There was no rain in the forecast that day, but while we drove out to our favorite field, droplets began to fall from the sky. We looked at each other, wondering where the heck this rain came from, trying to figure out what we would do next and wishing we had brought our umbrellas! By the time we arrived at the Ice Age Trailhead, the rain had stopped, and we even got some sun to peek through the clouds! We were golden 😉

As we walked down the path about to get started photographing this adorable couple, they told us about how they were about to move cross country to New Hampshire within days. Nate had landed his dream job, and we couldn’t be happier or more excited for them as they begin their next adventure together. But also, we felt super fortunate to be able to spend some time with them on one of their last evenings before their big move. Again, perfect timing!

These two were absolute naturals in front of our cameras as you’ll see very obviously in the images below! Their chemistry was undeniable, and we even discovered one of Emi & Nate’s party tricks through one of our prompts. It turns out, Emi regularly sits up on Nate’s shoulders, and they discovered it’s super useful for cleaning or reaching things up high in their apartment! There was one last thing that stuck with us from their session: If you know anything about our personal love story, you might know that our relationship early on was based heavily on our ability to quote the movie Anchorman back and forth. So, when Nate quoted Anchorman 2 in response to one of our prompts, we knew these two were our people!
