I first met with Jennifer and Tim in the middle of spring. As we talked about wedding details, it was easy to see how excited both of them were to start this new adventure together. Jennifer’s cousin was the one who insisted that she meet Tim, who was one of her husband’s good friends. They finally met when Tim was home on leave from the army. The two of them hit it off right away, but Tim had to go back to North Carolina where he was stationed. Their means of communication were by phone for the next few months. When he was back home the two of them became official and went on their first date. They had a long distance relationship for 2 years, 7 of those months with Tim overseas in Afghanistan. When Tim was finally out of active duty the two of them were able to find their new normal and settle in to everyday life together. You can just tell when a couple has endured long distance like these two have, that their marriage will be stronger because of it.
When I arrived to Jennifer’s parent’s home on the morning on their wedding, Jennifer was the most calm beautiful bride ever. She was completely ready to marry Tim. Despite the rainy afternoon, we had moments of sun and the most lovely weather for their portrait session. These newlyweds were surrounded by the most wonderful friends and family. There were so many special touches that they included to make the day so special to them. Jennifer carried a hanky in her bouquet; the same hanky that her mother and grandmother carried on their wedding day. One of the bridesmaids made their cake and the MOB baked all of the cupcakes. Jennifer was a gorgeous bride and the two of them were just smitten by one another throughout the day. It was an absolute pleasure capturing such a joyous day. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Childress!
